Tribal Tattoo in Istanbul
Tribal tattoo designs, real photographs and examples from NEXA — a tattoo studio in Maltepe, on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. The oldest language of ink.

What is a tribal tattoo?
Tribal tattooing uses thick black shapes, curved points and negative space, rooted in Polynesian, Maori and Borneo traditions.
Modern tribal only works when the shapes respond to muscle and movement. We design each piece on the body so that the flow follows the shoulder, the chest or the calf rather than fighting it, and we keep the black solid enough to stay crisp for decades.
