NEXA Atelier — a tattoo studio in Maltepe, Istanbul
A quiet, appointment-only space on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, designed for long sessions and careful work. Stone, bone and ink: the room is deliberately calm so the drawing gets all the attention.
Built for one project at a time
NEXA occupies a ground-floor atelier in Küçükyalı, Maltepe. There is one working station, natural light during the day and a controlled ring-light setup for detail work at night. Only one client is in the room during a session, which keeps both the hygiene and the concentration where they belong.
Every tool that touches skin is single-use: needles, cartridges, tubes, razors and ink caps are opened in front of you and discarded afterwards. Surfaces are wrapped before each session, and the studio follows Turkish Ministry of Health hygiene requirements for tattoo and piercing studios.
The studio also hosts sculpture and object work by artist Tansu Kırcı, which is part of why people describe NEXA as an art studio that happens to tattoo rather than a tattoo shop.
Tansu Kırcı — the sculptural language of NEXA
The stone faces and reliefs throughout NEXA are works by sculptor Tansu Kırcı. They give the atelier its material vocabulary: carved surfaces, deliberate irregularity and traces of the hand.
His practice treats stone as memory rather than decoration. The same principle shapes our tattoos — the work must belong to its surface and remain readable as that surface changes.
This collaboration makes the studio a place where tattooing, sculpture and spatial design live together rather than compete for attention.
Made for calm, focused sessions
From consultation to healed ink
1 — Free consultation. In person, on WhatsApp or by video. We discuss the idea, references, placement and budget, and give you an honest session estimate.
2 — Design. Your artist draws a custom design and adapts it to the anatomy of the placement. Revisions happen before the needle, never during.
3 — Session. Stencil, placement check, then the work itself. Long pieces are split into sessions so the skin stays healthy.
4 — Aftercare and touch-up. You leave with written aftercare instructions, and the first touch-up on our work is free.
